What our piano crews handle

Right gear, right crew size, flat-quoted before the truck rolls.

Upright pianos

Spinet, console, studio, full upright. Piano board, expert two-to-four mover crew depending on access and weight.

Baby grands

Leg/pedal removal, piano-board transport on its side, reassembly and reattachment at the destination. Padded throughout.

No full concert grands

We move uprights and baby grands only. Nine-foot concert grands and other competition-tier instruments need a specialty crew — we'll refer you out rather than book a job we shouldn't take.

Stairs — straight runs and turn-backs

Most Austin staircases are workable. Steep turn-back stairs in older Hyde Park or Travis Heights homes — we walk the access on the quote so day-of holds no surprises.

Climate-aware transport

Pianos hate temperature swings. Loaded last, unloaded first, kept inside the truck and out of the loading dock in July or January.

Flat add-on pricing

Piano move quoted as a flat add-on to your full move, or as a standalone job. You see the number before you book — no hourly-multiplier roulette.

Why Austin chooses Heavenly

Other Austin movers
Heavenly

Baby grand wheeled out on a furniture dolly. Felt scraped, leg torqued, soundboard cracked.

Piano board, padded straps, expert team. Same playbook every time.

Piano billed as an hourly multiplier — meter spins faster the second it shows up.

Flat add-on quoted before the truck rolls. You see the number, then you book.

'Sure, we'll take the concert grand' — followed by a job they can't actually finish.

Uprights and baby grands only. If it's bigger than that, we refer you to a piano rigger we trust.

How a Heavenly piano move runs

  1. 01

    Access check

Photos or a quick walkthrough. Doorway widths, stair turns, room access — flagged before quote, not on the truck.

  2. 02

    Prep & wrap

Piano board, straps, and padded blankets staged. Legs removed for baby grands; uprights padded and dollied.

  3. 03

    Specialty lift

Expert crew, dedicated piano board. Loaded last and unloaded first so it spends the least time in the truck.

  4. 04

    Place & reassemble

Set in place in the new room, legs and pedals reattached, walked through with you. Tuner referral on request.

Our baby grand had been sitting in the same room for twelve years and I was terrified to move it. Four guys showed up with a skid board, took the legs off, and had it set up in the new house by the afternoon. Flat price, no drama, and the tuner they referred came out two weeks later.

Quick questions

Straight answers — no runaround.

Will moving my piano put it out of tune?+

Almost always — even gentle moves change tension on the strings as the piano acclimates to the new room's temperature and humidity. Schedule a tune-up two to four weeks after delivery for best results, not the day after.

Do you move full concert grands?+

No. We handle uprights and baby grands only. Nine-foot concert grands and other competition-tier instruments need a dedicated piano-rigging crew — we'll refer you to one we trust rather than book a job we shouldn't take.

Can you move a piano up or down stairs?+

Yes. Straight-run residential staircases are routine with our expert crews and a piano board. Steep turn-backs need an access walk first — we'd rather quote it right than show up and improvise.

What about a digital piano or keyboard?+

Standard furniture pricing — no specialty add-on. Wrapped, dollied, transported with your other electronics.

Do you tune the piano after the move?+

We don't tune ourselves — that's a specialist's job. We refer to a short list of Austin piano techs we've worked with for years. Plan a tune-up two to four weeks after the move once the piano settles.
